Urgent Prayer Request
Hi. I just tried to put this request on the Glory Girls Web site,
but something didn't work. Anyway, I thought maybe you could pass
this along to everyone easier than I can. Mom's friend Lynn
Alexander – all the moms should know her from school – just found out
that her daughter Courtney has a malignant breast tumor. Lynn is
very distraught, of course, and Mom is talking to her now. Mom just
asked me to pass this prayer request on to our group so we can start
praying for Courtney. She's about 2 years younger than me, I think,
and I don't know what her spiritual condition is. I do know she's a
very successful businesswoman with 2 young children. Very upsetting.

Nice weekend at mom's house

Hey girls,
Hope all is well with all of you and yours. Deb, I enjoyed visiting with you on the phone. I look forward to working with you and George on the building..hope his new job is going well.
Matt and I celebrated our 22nd wedding anniversary on Friday, October 6th. On Thursday night, we celebrated with our kids and the girls. Zeke brought Melissa, whom he has unofficially asked to marry him. They are planning to marry in the summer of '08, which sounds like a way off, but, I know will get here sooner than we think. They want to marry before she starts Physical Therapy school. We are thrilled with her and think she is sweet and gorgeous.
On Friday, we left all the kids and drove to Miles to meet mom for supper at my favorite Mexican restaurant...I highly recommend the green chile enchiladas! Afterwards, we went to my high school Homecoming with my four best girlfriends from school. We didn't win, but, it turned out to be a great game. My cousin Leland's daughter Shay was a Homecoming duchess. Ironically, her grandmother (my Aunt Dixie) was Lake View's very first Homecoming Queen, 50 years to the day that Shay was a duchess. She didn't win, but looked beautiful. I took her a charm I had been given when I was Lake View HC duchess in 1980...she hooked it to her earring. After the game, we went over to Stacy's house to visit and stayed out til 1:30 a.m.!!! I NEVER get to do that anymore! I was thankful I got to sleep late Saturday morning.
On Saturday, mom and I played with Justice and Sloan, then traveled out to Big Lake to see Dennis. He has been moved there, as Tom Green was overcrowded. He was in good spirits...said the food is much better there and that they have cable movies. He is pretty bored and would love to get some letters from anyone.
Sunday was a special day for mom and I. I went to her Sunday school class at Trinity, which was wonderful. That church has the nicest group of ladies...so welcoming and glad that you're there. They LOVE mom and think she is the greatest teacher ever. I have to admit, I'm pretty impressed with her Biblical knowledge. All of her studying pays off. I saw Gay and Yvette, *who is teaching Children's Church during worship hour in Granny Cox's old Sunday school classroom. Amazing! During worship, I sang "El Shaddai." The pastor gave an awesome sermon...he is very joyful and I can tell he is trying to light a Fire within those old people. After I sang, he asked me to come up and help him serve Communion, which I had never done before. It was very humbling. It was a great day!
Matt and I traveled back home after lunch...we had picked up a little truck that Colt is going to buy from Walt's on Saturday, and were anxious to take it to him. He loved it, of course.
Well, that's my weekend...I hope to hear from someone else on this blog..Let me know if you are having trouble figuring out how to post, and I'll walk you through it.!
Love to all!
Christy
